Face Paint By Vicki uses only products which are cosmetic grade, and are professional quality face paints that meet Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations for cosmetic use. Similarly, the glitter we use is composed of cosmetic grade material safe for use on your skin.
It is unfortunate that some face painters do not use products safe for you or your child's skin. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
CRAFT PRODUCTS such as acrylic, tempra, markers, or anything that does not indicate “safe for the skin” should not be used on you or your children. These products can cause an allergic reaction such as a rash, itching, and possibly damage to your skin. A non toxic label simply means it is safe if ingested.
Craft glitter is made of metal and is not intended to be used on the skin.
GENERAL ART PRODUCTS listed as meeting ASTM safety standards only means the products have been tested and when used as intended, such as on paper, plastic, wood, etc., are safe. This does not mean that they are intended for painting on human skin.
HENNA is NOT black. If you ever see someone using black henna, do NOT allow it to be put on your skin. Black henna contains PPD (an ingredient found in hair dye) and can cause serious burns. Our henna is made with all natural ingredients but may be unsafe for some folks that have allergies to citrus.
In addition to using quality products, Face Paint By Vicki is insured through Performers of the US.
